English summary The goal of the 5th International Conference "Logistics - the Prosperity Tool" is to inform first of all top managers, members of Boards of Directors, Chairmen and experts from public sector (state administration, administration of cities and regions), and specialists for logistics about possibilities, which the application of logistics offers. The Year 2000 is considered as the breakeven point. Starting the Czech economics, the anticipated growth of small and middle enterprises, announced revitalizing programs for selected firms, expected economic growth in other European countries, enhanced effort concerning integration with European Union, not only its legal part, but also in reaching the economic parameters, will create new challenging conditions. It will be still harder to succeed in tough competition especially because of the expected faster growth of input prices (fuel and energy). Under such difficult conditions logistics can offer solutions with its wide content. The conference, where prominent experts either from Czech Republic or from developed countries of Western Europe and USA, will create the frame for mutual giving and using the experience. We are convinced that the contribution of the whole event will not only extend the knowledge and present the working logistic systems, but also find new personal contacts both with foreign colleagues and with another participants from Czech republic and creation condition for active cooperation within logistic chains. The conference will give space for a little bit less known fields of logistics in our country e.g. City logistics which presents new possibilities and solutions not only in the field of construction, but especially for decision making and strategy planning of the administration of cities and regions and state administration. Building for example big commercial, warehousing and distribution centers on the outskirts of big cities present concentration of problems which must be solved altogether by managers of manufacturing, business, transport, distribution and representatives of local, regional and state administration. It might be great contribution to show how this problem is solved in developed countries. The Czech Logistic Association would like to present logistics as possible effective solution of contemporary problems to all participants. Fragmentation of the negotiation to the sections and the seminar will enable to use the time spent at the conference effectively. We would like to show to the managers new point of view of the problems they have to solve, and to offer the possibility to see how the most successful approach similar problems. |
