The student living in a foreign country will at some point need to ask directions, order food or just say hello. The language classes will introduce the student to the Czech language and ease his or her transition into Prague life through basic knowledge of the language.

Content:

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with the basic elements of Czech. The class will enable the students to begin to understand and speak very basic conversational Czech.

2. Greetings and Basic Social Phrases.
3. Introducing. The Nouns. The Pronouns.
4. Introducing. The Verbs.
5. Town - Giving and Following Directions.
6. Shopping. The Nouns. The Verbs.
7. Shopping. Cardinal Numbers.
8. Hotel. Restaurant. Modal Verbs.
9. Likes and Dislikes. The Adverbs. The Verbs.
10. The Nouns. Writing Letters.
11. My Family. The Nouns.
12. Jobs. The Verbs.
13. Cinema. Television. Ordinal Numerals.
14. Invitation (formal, informal). The Verbs.
15. Daily Programme. The Nouns. The Verbs.

Graduated from Charles University Prague with specialization in Russian and Czech languages. Additional degree in Theory of Educational Methods. Senior Professor at the University of Economics Prague since 1978. Extensive experience in teaching Czech to foreign students. Co-author of several Czech textbooks.

How to Obtain Credits:

Written tests are scheduled in 7th and in 14th class. The best attainable score for each of them is 30 pts. The final evaluation will be completed by an interview worth 20 and class activity worth 20 as well. More than 90 points entitles you to get grade A, more than 80 - grade B.
